My first buying experience with RockAuto was
awesome! Your website is very easy to use and
communication after the purchase was excellent.
Not only did I get the best price on the web
for top name disc pads, but they arrived super
fast. If I had to order these from my local
parts store, they would have cost a lot more
and I would have had to wait several days.
RockAuto Rocks!
Thanks,
Bill in Pennsylvania

I received the ordered part as promised...like
clockwork. You should hold "clinics"
for other companies.
Thanks so much for your excellent service.
I recommend RockAuto to all my friends.
Best Regards,
Ed in Virginia

Part Advice for All
|
|

|
"...To remove the water pump from the 1MZFE,
you will need to remove one of the two long studs that
pass through the water pump housing. To remove the stud,
I used a torx socket on a 1/4 inch ratchet..."
This is the kind of useful advice you will find on the
new RockAuto Part Advice Wiki.
What is a wiki? A wiki (<wee-kee> or <wick-ey>)
is a type of website that allows users to add, remove,
or otherwise edit and change all content quickly and
easily. The RockAuto Wiki is a great place to keep track
of your own tips and tricks and to share your knowledge
with the rest of the world. Also see what other customers
have to say about a particular part or repair.
To access the RockAuto Part Advice Wiki click on the
"Advice" button located on the right side
of the catalog page.

Did You Know?
|
|

|
According to Sun Oil research a missing or defective
fuel cap can allow as much as 176 pounds of gasoline
vapors (22 gallons) to evaporate into the atmosphere
each year. At $3 per gallon, that adds up to over $65
per year.
Have you checked your gas cap recently? Look in the
Fuel/Air category in the RockAuto catalog
to find a gas cap for your car or light truck.

| Malibu Makeover |

Upgraded parts from RockAuto next to
old parts |
|
Dear RockAuto,
I would like to mention that I am upgrading the front
brakes on my 1980 Malibu coupe with the help of RockAuto.com.
The rotors were the hardest parts to find, specified
for the 1991-1993 Camaro with the 1LE performance brake
upgrade, to get the right 5 x 4.75" wheel stud
pattern for the Malibu. I did an Internet search for
these rotors, and found Raybestos "Brutestop"
drilled and slotted performance units on RockAuto.com
for about $65 a rotor. This was the the ONLY location
I could find these rotors ON THE ENTIRE INTERNET except
for going to GM directly which wanted $180 each! In
the end I bought most of the parts I needed for this
conversion...loaded Cardone Severe Duty calipers, hoses,
master cylinder, and Raybestos Severe Duty rear brake
shoes in order to make this upgrade.
I was really impressed with how easy to use and thorough
your interactive parts catalog is for the slightly knowledgeable
car nut. I was able to take a look at the pictures to
confirm that what I was putting together would actually
fit. I found nearly everything I needed at RockAuto
and probably saved $300 over buying a complete conversion
kit elsewhere.
The Malibu started as a granny car with a floor-shifted
3-speed and an AM radio. The paint and interior will
have to wait until later, since I am focusing on performance,
not glamour. I could not have done it without Rockauto.com.
Sincerely,
Quinn Fatherley
P.S. For my next project, I have a 1992 4WD Dodge Cummins
pickup with 216K on the odometer. I'll bet that I will
replace the all-original steering parts with Made-in-the-USA
parts from Rockauto.com!
