We tend to take our vehicle's lights for granted, unaware that one or two may be out until an officer does his duty and writes a ticket.

Just For Fun...

With the help of RockAuto, I've just about got my Polara restored to showroom condition. It is a champion show car with national first place credentials and gets "thumbs up" wherever we go. And boy, do we go! It's been across country several times and logs about 22K miles each year.

The cars today are in many ways better. They are safer, handle better, stop faster and are more comfortable. Our Ford Focus has more options than the top luxury cars did in the days of my old Polara. It handles better than the best sport cars of that era, and gets great gas mileage. BUT, what's missing is the style and feel and excitement that translates through when driving something much simpler, grittier and real.

My Polara is featured prominently in an upcoming feature motion picture called "Dead Lenny" now in post production. It is driven by a gangster (Joe Piscapo) from NJ in LA looking into the disappearance of his brother, Lenny. I got to drive the Polara along Mulholland Drive while being filmed from a helicopter. Joe really enjoyed the car while he drove it during shooting.

Maintenance is simple and it's amazing to me how many essential parts are available from RockAuto. I recently replaced all four brake drums and RockAuto had them in stock! I know RockAuto will deliver the parts I need wherever I am and allow me to continue this relationship for miles and miles to come!
