An ACDelco GM Original Equipment Ignition Knock (Detonation) Sensor monitors the engine for pinging or spark knock, and is a GM-recommended replacement for your vehicle's original component. The sensor creates a voltage signal based on the vibrations caused by erratic air/fuel mixture combustion; the engine control module uses this signal to adjust the ignition timing and air/fuel mixture. This original equipment ignition knock sensor has been manufactured to fit your specific GM vehicle, providing the same performance, durability, and service life you expect from General Motors.

Tips & Tools For The Repair
Helpful Tools: A Scraper, to remove carbon deposits on the engine; Intake Valve Cleaner, to clean the Intake Manifold; a Torque Wrench, to tighten the sensor(s) according to OE specifications.
Replace all Knock Sensors together while you already have the intake removed. Engines typically have one knock sensor per bank.
Old, brittle connectors often break during installation or removal - replace the corresponding Knock / Detonation Sensor Connector (found in the "Electrical-Connector" category) to prevent failure.
