Brake Pads are sold as a set. Quantity of one (1) is for both wheels
SUV; Semi-Metallic
Bendix SUV disc brake pads are designed specifically to meet the braking requirements of sport utility vehicles, mini vans, light pick-ups and vans. These vehicles are generally bigger than passenger cars, and are often used for hauling and/or towing. These conditions can place a strain on the braking system that may be too much for a standard grade pad to handle.
Thanks to an all new O.E. – technology friction formulation, Bendix SUV offers improved stopping power with reduced pedal effort for these larger, heavier vehicles. With SUV you can expect shorter stopping distances than standard grade pads, providing an added measure of safety. In addition, all SUV pads come complete with high quality steel shims to help ensure quiet braking. Bendix SUV resists fade to retain its stopping power under high operating temperatures, such as those encountered in stop-and-go driving or when carrying heavy loads. And SUV provides long lining life, too. With Bendix SUV, you get truck-tough performance with luxury car pedal “feel”.
Installation Tips
Suspend the caliper from the suspension using a Caliper Hanger to prevent damage to the brake hose
Apply Brake Lube to caliper pins, clips, the edges of the brake pad mounting tabs, and the back side of the brake pads to ensure noise free braking. DO NOT apply lube to the friction side of the brake pads
Use a Caliper Piston Compressor to retract the caliper piston(s) and make room for the new, thicker brake pads
Open the master cylinder reservoir during piston compression to prevent pressure buildup. Keep an eye on the Brake Fluid level to ensure it does not overflow
After the job is complete, pump the brake pedal several times to push the caliper piston back up against the pads to ensure proper brake function
