Magnum gaskets are designed by highly experienced automotive product engineers, who are not only experts in gasket design, but have first-hand knowledge of what is involved in the manufacture and installation of the gaskets. Magnum's manufacturing facilities are world class, having been a supplier to OEM and well known, aftermarket gasket brands for many years.
Synthetic rubber molding has been a specialty of Magnum's manufacturing operation for many years. Too many suppliers use cheap rubber compounds containing too much low cost filler and not enough (rubber) polymer. They also suffer from poor seal designs, poor quality control, poor mold designs, poor manufacturing processes and failure to post cure gaskets. This results in parts that have high compression set and low temperature resistance. (Compression set is a measure of how much the material relaxes and no longer presses against the sealing surface.)
Magnum always uses premium synthetic rubber compounds such as high temperature silicone and hi-tech FKM (fleuoroelastomer) material. We have the manufacturing processes in place to make world class parts, very consistently.
