Owner's Manuals, usually found in the glove compartment of your automobile,
were published by the auto factory to acquaint owners with the proper operation
and maintenance of their new car or truck. Generally, they familiarize the owner
with the features engineered into the automobile to assure economical and efficient
operation. They include instructions for operating all standard equipment and
most optional or special equipment available at that time.
Instrument controls, lighting, radios, brakes, tires and wheels, towing and
seat adjustment are among the topics sometimes covered. In addition, many auto
owners manuals include some basic maintenance information (brake fluid, cooling
system, oil requirements, etc) and specifications (engine, fuses, light bulbs,
fluid capacities, etc.)
Truck owners manuals, like car owners manuals, contain operating instructions,
maintenance recommendations and service specifications. Instrument panel and
controls, 4 wheel drive operating instructions, brakes operating instructions,
fuses and circuit breakers are among the topics sometimes included. |
