| The heavy duty cast aluminum Tensioner Arm is designed to exert uniform force on the belt system to help insure correct arm alignment at all times. The use of a heavy duty tension spring is used to facilitate a quiet, smooth operation that helps provide constant tension between all of the drive components. The heavy duty spring aids in the dampening of operating vibration that can be detrimental to other component bearings and could lead to excessive belt wear or premature failure. The Internal spring design also helps promote even pressure throughout the life of the accessory drive belt.
Service Tip: Always replace belts and tensioners together. Old tensioners will reduce a belt's lifespan, and can lead to issues such as overheating, a dead battery, diminished power steering, or poor air conditioning performance.
