Raybestos Professional Grade friction allows you to achieve maximum stopping power and safety.

Features:

  • Materials: Professional Grade friction is made with application-specific ceramic or semi-metallic formulations. Semi-metallic applications provide quiet braking and a strong bite for OE-matched or better braking power. Ceramic applications deliver responsive braking that’s clean and silent.

  • Backing Plate: The backing plate on our PG brake pads is stamped or shaved depending on the application. This allows for proper movement of the pad within the caliper assembly and helps to reduce noise, premature wear, and brake pulsation.
  • Slots and Chamfers: The slots and chamfers on our PG friction match OE design, which allows braking gasses to escape and helps to reduce noise, vibration, and harshness.
  • Shims: PG friction comes with a noise-dampening shim, delivering quiet braking and excellent durability. The shims are fitted to the pad with a spring-locked attachment, ensuring they stay in place for their entire service life.
  • Electronic Wear Sensors: Attached electronic wear sensors are included when the application calls for it.
Organic vs. Ceramic vs. Semi-Metallic - What Is The Difference?

A common question many drivers have when shopping for brake pads is “What is the difference between the different brake pad materials?” While all brake pads will stop your vehicle, there are pros and cons of each pad material:

Installation Tips
  • Suspend the caliper from the suspension using a Caliper Hanger to prevent damage to the brake hose
  • Apply Brake Lube to caliper pins, clips, the edges of the brake pad mounting tabs, and the back side of the brake pads to ensure noise free braking. DO NOT apply lube to the friction side of the brake pads
  • Use a Caliper Piston Compressor to retract the caliper piston(s) and make room for the new, thicker brake pads
  • Open the master cylinder reservoir during piston compression to prevent pressure buildup. Keep an eye on the Brake Fluid level to ensure it does not overflow
  • After the job is complete, pump the brake pedal several times to push the caliper piston back up against the pads to ensure proper brake function
