Shift Kit; For 6T30, 6T40, 6T45 GEN2 Transmissions
This TransGo 6T40-G2 SHIFT KIT® Valve Body Repair Kit fits 2013 and newer General Motors vehicles equipped with GEN2 6T30, 6T40, 6T45 and 6T50 automatic transmission. These transmissions often come in with complaints of soft or flare up on shifts, burned friction plates, TCC slip as well as various solenoids and gear ratio codes. This kit does not fit GEN1 units.
These complaints are often the result of wear at the actuator feed limit (AFL) valve. The purpose of the AFL valve is to limit the pressure going to the solenoids. The AFL valve spring is calibrated to prevent the solenoid feed pressure from exceeding a predetermined PSI, no matter what main line pressure is. This is necessary to prevent more fluid from being fed to the solenoids than they can effectively regulate and limit what max line pressure output is. If the pressure feeding the solenoids is too high or too low, their output will also be too high or too low. As a result, shift quality complaints and codes can occur along with low or high main line pressure.
The other source of these complaints is at the spring end of the pressure regulator valve. This is the EPC boost area of the valve. When bore or valve wear occurs here, it causes a loss of EPC boost signal oil. The end result is lazy or low-pressure boost response, low line pressure, clutch slippage, solenoid performance and gear ratio codes. Lastly, the TCC regulator valve bore wears out causing the TCC slip problems and codes.

The kit includes an oversized AFL valve. The new valve is oversize, therefore you will need the TransGo tool-kit part # AFLG2TK to ream the bore. This universal tool-kit works for all GEN2 6F35, 6T30, 6T40, 6T45, 6T50, 6T70, 6T75 and 6T80 transmissions.
A new drop-in hardened steel TCC regulator valve that has re-positioned longer lands and incorporates a groove where a scarf cut seal is fitted so that it seals in the original worn bore. Lastly, a new design PR valve with longer lands restores the function and reliability of the pressure regulator system.

What is a Shift Kit?
TransGo Shift Kit® valve body repair kits are a combination of new and re-engineered components that are primarily installed in the valve body, but sometimes the pump or even in the transmission itself. These kits solve a variety of inherent problems and weaknesses that differ by transmission model, including usual warp and wear, often allowing a higher mileage transmission to work better than a new one. Typical components of a valve body repair kit include springs, valves, check balls, gaskets, separator plates, etc.
