FRAM Racing® Filters are optimized for both racing and high-performance street cars, and are compatible with all oil types. Feel confident knowing a heavy-gauge tapping plate and an extra-thick steel can will withstand the high pressure flexing caused by demanding driving conditions. A spiral-shaped center tube provides protection against collapse, and tough steel end caps add even more durability. A screen-over 22psi filter bypass valve provides additional protection against larger contaminants.

Features & Benefits:
  • Low-restriction racing media designed for high oil flow. The media features 94% efficiency @20 microns for excellent engine protection.
  • Silicone anti-drain back valve.
  • Recommended maximum oil flow: 10-18gpm, depending on model.
  • Maximum burst pressure: 350-500psi, depending on model.
  • Maximum operating pressure: 200psi on all models.

Installation Instructions
  • Check owner's manual for correct oil specification, viscosity, and amount. Purchase oil by year, make, and model, or under the Tools & Universal Parts tab on RockAuto.com
  • Wear proper protective gear (safety glasses, gloves, long sleeve shirt) to protect skin and eyes from hot oil.
  • Place a Drain Pan under the crankcase and carefully open drain plug to drain oil. When oil is fully drained, reinstall drain plug on the oil pan.
  • Position the drain pan under the oil filter. Unscrew oil filter (using a Filter Wrench, if necessary).
  • Clean mounting base, making sure the O-ring from the old filter is not stuck to the filter mount.
  • Apply film of clean oil to filter gasket.
  • Screw new filter on until gasket reaches base contact, then tighten filter to manufacturer specifications.
  • Add oil to “full” on dipstick. Idle engine for 5 minutes and check for leaks.
  • Shut off engine and recheck oil level after 5 minutes. Top off as necessary.
It is illegal to dispose of used oil or oil filters in a sanitary landfill or public waterway. Many towns have free hazardous waste drop-off sites, which a quick internet search will help you find.
