Shift Kit; For 6L45, 6L50, 6L80, 6L90 Transmissions
This TransGo 6L80 SHIFT KIT® Valve Body Repair Kit fits 2006 and newer General Motors vehicles equipped with the popular 6L45, 6L50, 6L80 and 6L90 automatic transmissions. These transmissions often come in with a delaminating Pressure Regulator (PR) valve which wears out the PR valve bore in the pump causing erratic line pressure. Another area of wear concern is the solenoid regulator valve bore. Wear in both areas can cause various shift complaints and codes, delayed engagements and broken hard parts due to high pressure spikes.

Features & Benefits:
The kit utilizes all drop-in valves for quick, no-hassle install, without reaming or tooling. The precision ground USA-made hardened steel PR valve provides full-time line-to-lube and restores the hydraulic integrity of the circuit. It has re-positioned longer lands at both ends of the valves which promote better support less wear. As a result, this new valve is a drop-in fix even with a pump that has substantial bore wear. A new boost valve and bushing is also provided with a built in EPC pressure relief to eliminate the possibility of damaging high line pressure spikes. In addition, to address the solenoid regulator valve bore wear, a drop in system using a precision ground USA-made hardened steel valve and a valve guide insert is used. Consequently, it no longer uses the original worn bore and easily restores the hydraulic integrity of the solenoid regulator valve circuit.

Finally, the kit includes new rubber seals and diaphragms to renew the TEHCM pressure switches. The kit also includes TransGo engineered high temperature stator rings, to salvage problematic early style pump stator support without locking sealing rings.

Corrects/Prevents/Reduces:
  • Erratic shifts
  • Delay or delay-bang forward, as well as delay reverse engagements
  • Extreme pressure damage
  • Damaged pressure switches
  • Codes: P0729, P0731, P0732, P0733, P0734, P0735, P0751, P0752, P0756, P0757, P0761, P0762, P0776 and P0777
Includes:
  • Precision ground drop-in steel pressure regulator valve, spring and spring seat
  • Drop in steel boost valve and bushing with EPC relief assembly (bushing, valve, spring, ball, cotter pin)
  • Drop-in precision ground solenoid regulator valve, bushing, spring, spacer and retainer
  • (3) TransGo engineered high-temperature stator rings and expanders
  • (5) Pressure switch diaphragms
  • (5) Pressure switch seals

TransGo Shift Kit vs. Reprogramming Kit

Shift Kit® -- DESIGNED FOR DURABILITY

TransGo Shift Kit® valve body repair kits correct, prevent and reduce multiple transmission problems such as shift irregularities and durability issues. These kits are designed for normal everyday use and light duty towing.

Reprogramming Kit -- ENGINEERED FOR PERFORMANCE

TransGo Reprogramming Kit™ valve body performance kits are made for Heavy Duty and/or Performance applications, and include additional features such as:

  • Gear Command™: Allows full control of downshifting and will hold any gear to any RPM. Retains automatic up shifts in the drive position. Certain units allow manual up shifts on driver command.
  • Manual Shift Control: This feature fully converts the valve body to manual/stick shift operation – no automatic shifts. Most Manual Shift Control kits also allow you the ability to easily convert back to automatic.
  • Tuneless: Patent-pending internal calibration technology “tuneless” allows install without the need for additional transmission tuning software or programmers.

What is a Shift Kit?
TransGo Shift Kit® valve body repair kits are a combination of new and re-engineered components that are primarily installed in the valve body, but sometimes the pump or even in the transmission itself. These kits solve a variety of inherent problems and weaknesses that differ by transmission model, including usual warp and wear, often allowing a higher mileage transmission to work better than a new one. Typical components of a valve body repair kit include springs, valves, check balls, gaskets, separator plates, etc.
