Shift Kit; For A6MF 1-2, A6GF-1, A6LF-1-2-3, Dodge Dart 6F24 Transmissions
This A6MF SHIFT KIT® Valve Body Repair Kit fits 2009 and newer Hyundai and Kia vehicles with the A6MF1/2, A6GF1, A6LF1/2/3, as well as 2013-2016 Jeep and 2012-2016 Dodge vehicles with the 6F24 transmission. Common complaints with this transmission are brutal 6-4 kick-down bang, erratic shifting, flares or neutrals during up and downshifts. It may also set gear ratio and solenoid performance codes and have TCC shudder or slip complains and codes.

This transmission uses two reducing valves in the valve body that often severely wear out their bores. Reducing valve #1 regulates the pressure going to the two ON/OFF solenoids as well as the OD, 2-6, 3-5-R and UD pressure switch valves. Reducing valve #2 regulates the pressure going to the six PWM solenoids.

The purpose of the reducing valves is to limit the pressure going to the solenoids. The spring is calibrated to prevent solenoid feed pressure from exceeding a predetermined PSI, no matter what main line pressure is. This is necessary to prevent more fluid from being fed to the solenoids than they can effectively regulate and limit what max line pressure output is. If the pressure feeding the solenoids is too high or too low, their output will also be too high or too low. As a result, shift quality complaints and codes can occur along with low or high main line pressure.

The other issue has to do with the TCC control valve bushing wear. Consequently, the computer loses the ability to control the lock-up clutch apply rate properly due to the loss of TCC apply pressure.

Features and benefits:
This TransGo SHIFT KIT® Valve Body Repair Kit includes two oversized USA-made steel reducing valves to completely restore the hydraulic circuit integrity. In order to install these two valves, the bores must first be reamed oversized. If you don’t already have the reamer and guides, you will also need TransGo part # A4A6RVTK. No expensive holding fixture required. Reusable high-quality USA-made steel reamer and heat-treated guide.

TransGo Shift Kit vs. Reprogramming Kit

Shift Kit® -- DESIGNED FOR DURABILITY

TransGo Shift Kit® valve body repair kits correct, prevent and reduce multiple transmission problems such as shift irregularities and durability issues. These kits are designed for normal everyday use and light duty towing.

Reprogramming Kit -- ENGINEERED FOR PERFORMANCE

TransGo Reprogramming Kit™ valve body performance kits are made for Heavy Duty and/or Performance applications, and include additional features such as:

  • Gear Command™: Allows full control of downshifting and will hold any gear to any RPM. Retains automatic up shifts in the drive position. Certain units allow manual up shifts on driver command.
  • Manual Shift Control: This feature fully converts the valve body to manual/stick shift operation – no automatic shifts. Most Manual Shift Control kits also allow you the ability to easily convert back to automatic.
  • Tuneless: Patent-pending internal calibration technology “tuneless” allows install without the need for additional transmission tuning software or programmers.

What is a Shift Kit?
TransGo Shift Kit® valve body repair kits are a combination of new and re-engineered components that are primarily installed in the valve body, but sometimes the pump or even in the transmission itself. These kits solve a variety of inherent problems and weaknesses that differ by transmission model, including usual warp and wear, often allowing a higher mileage transmission to work better than a new one. Typical components of a valve body repair kit include springs, valves, check balls, gaskets, separator plates, etc.
